GUEST DJ/Instructor Alex Rodriguez bio:
Based in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area, Alex Rodriguez was first introduced to kizomba in 2015. Since then, Alex has traveled to various countries to enhance his knowledge and experience, receiving invaluable training from artists such as Afro-Latin Connection, Miguel & Susana, Enah & Carolina, Laurent & Adeline, Bonifacio Aurio, and DJ Snakes. Furthermore, he continues to support the local community as organizer, instructor, DJ, and dancer, while also teaching & DJing at several events and festivals locally and around the United States. As an instructor, he offers a unique technical perspective as a lead and follow with a strong emphasis on history, musicality, technicality, and body movement. As a DJ, he brought his style to Interfusion Festival: Awakening, Denver Salsa & Bachata Congress 2017, New York Urban Kiz Sensation Weekender and DCBX 9.
To Alex, kizomba is a unique form of art that allows dancers to speak through the connection they have with the music, the partner, and the dance floor.
